Know 3P well to excel in your job!

I think we need to know below 3 P well to excel in our jobs.

1/ People:

Know your manager, your team, other teams, internal and external customers, suppliers/vendors well. Nobody can accomplish anything great alone. Even Steph Curry and Lebron James need to play in a TEAM in order to get the NBA Champion ring ! Show respect and be nice to others. You will sure need their help later.

I am always nice to anyone, e.g. the janitor ! He always lets me use the restroom even after he hangs the sign “DO NOT USE, Cleaning in progress!” 🤣

2/ Products (and Services):

Know your products/services well. How can you improve if you do not know your products/services well ? Great companies make the world better because they are helping others with their superior products/services.

Remember the old days without GPS/Google Maps. We got a lot of PAPER maps from AAA and then used them when we drove to a new place !

3/ Processes:

Know your internal/external processes. Many companies have some processes to get things done. It can be expense report approval, HR processes (benefits, pay, PTO, etc.), file a new PR and create a new branch for your code in github, build and deploy new artifacts, make a change in the AWS to add more…
